Charleys – which got its start in Columbus – has added a 13th Ohio location. This time the quick-serve restaurant has opened its doors in Marion, Ohio.
It marks only the second location in Ohio to not be in Columbus, with the other location being in Mansfield. In Marion, the Charleys is occupying the former home of Popeyes on State Route 95 in front of the Goodwill, Harbor Freight strip center. It is across the street from Walmart Super Center.
Charleys got its founding in 1986 when CEO Charley Shin was attending The Ohio State University and opened his first shop near campus. Rave reviews followed and in 1991 began franchising. The restaurant now has over 700 locations in 46 states and 17 countries.
The Marion location is nearing completion but no opening date shows on the Charleys website.
