Coffee Shop Announces New Location
New Location in Exploding Community
The Coffee Vault in Galena has become a favorite destination for Gretchen and me during our “coffee dates.”
Well, we’ll soon have another location to take in as the owners have announced the purchase of the Ragamuffin coffee shop in Alexandria. We posted about the closure of Ragamuffin on December 18 but they didn’t disclose the new ownership group.
“We are excited to announce in the spring of 2025 we will be opening a new location of The Coffee Vault in Alexandria, Ohio in the former Ragamuffins Coffee House!” They announced in a Facebook post on December 30.
Ragamuffins has a nice location larger than it appears from the front with a large back room for dining. It has a small kitchen that offers a wide variety of breakfasts and pastries, in similar ways to the current The Coffee Vault location in Galena.
It was a favorite stop for me when mom lived in Newark and I made the trip along Ohio 37 from Delaware.
Now with the $20 billion Intel/Amazon chip plant going in only a few miles down the road, this sleepy community is going to become the hub of growth in Central Ohio. The community of 507 residents, according to Census Data, already has a higher than average $95,000 per capita income which compares nicely to Galena.
This should be a great addition to the Central Ohio coffee community.
