Glenn Road Adding Two Projects

Delaware’s East Side Evolution Continues

According to recent articles in the Delaware Gazette, Delaware’s eastside continues evolving with two new projects being proposed for the Glenn Road corridor.

The first project is the addition of a long-term care facility along Glenn Road at the southwest corner of Mill Run Crossing. The 14.81-acre project is currently working on rezoning the property, according to the Gazette.

The second project would be the addition of a Kroger marketplace along Sunbury Road (US 36/Ohio 37) at the southwest corner of Glenn Road. According to the Gazette, Kroger would develop a 17.75-acre parcel located adjacent to the Kroger Distribution plant and across the road from Meijer. This would be the third Kroger in Delaware and become the third grocery store to call the City’s east side home. The project is currently working within the zoning department. For Kroger, it is also the announcement of a third new Kroger to be built in Delaware County, with the recently completed Jerome Township store, a Powell location just south of Liberty Road and now Delaware.

Both projects would remake an area that is currently farmland but has been for sale for more than a decade since the addition of Glenwood Commons. If approved they would join a new McDonald’s, Firestone, VA clinic, and Chase bank to call the east side home in coming years.
