Local Diner Closes Its Doors
Eclectic Diner Closes After Five Years
Eclectic Diner & Sweeterie has closed its doors effective Saturday, December 7.
The Delaware establishment became an instant success when Holly Johnson opened it at 755 US 23 North near the Fairgrounds. It blended locally sourced ingredients with Holly’s twenty-plus years of culinary experience in Pittsburgh and New York City to create a modern take on traditional diner fare.
After weathering the pandemic, Eclectic rebounded and was recently featured on America’s Best Restaurants in October.
However, sadly, the business climate was too much for the Diner to handle. Between new employee challenges and the increasing costs, Johnson found the items that used to fuel her were making it hard to keep the business running.
It is a sad day for Delawarites as the Diner closes its doors. But we know the future will lead to great things for Johnson and her family.
Disclaimer: Johnson and some of her employees are past clients of Boyce.
