Washington Prime to Liquidate

Includes Polaris Fashion Place Mall Sale

Washington Prime Group – now known as wpg – continues to wind down operations as it has announced the sale of its remaining malls and laying off nearly its entire Central Ohio staff.

Polaris Fashion Place Mall located in southern Delaware County is among the 70+ properties located across the country that will be put up for sale. Per the Columbus Dispatch, there are 11 vice presidents being laid off among the 134 people being layed off. The company’s corporate office is located at 4900 East Dublin-Granville Road in Gahanna — which ironically or not is the former home to anonther former Central Ohio retail icon, Big Lots.

“As part of WPG’s multi-year journey, the company continues to sell assets in its portfolio, with about half of WPG’s properties sold in the past year, while the remainder of the portfolio is or will soon be on the market,” the company said.

There was no information provided on when or a price point for the Delaware County based mall.
